Time Well Spent

"& for the first time I feel less alone, and for the first time I can call this home."

They began hanging out at his house alone, plus his parents. She fell in love with the atmosphere. She had never had a stable family before...just brokenness for most of her life. And walking into his house, having his parents take her in as she was...that meant the world to her. She loved just sitting with him and watching movies and TV, or sitting at the kitchen table with his mom while he was getting a shower. She felt safe, relaxed, and most of all...happy. Hours they spent, her spread with textbooks on the floor, him in his recliner watching football and mythbusters. It was the time of her life...the best relationship she had never had. But each day they spent together brought them closer and closer. Each night she left, she knew she had time well spent.

He thought he would never find a girl as amazing as she. How she melted into his family like sugar into cookie dough...perfectly. He would never trade a single minute they spent together in his house, he loved it. Best friends completely comfortable with one another...always time well spent.
